    Bible Study Notes
Resistance is anything that challenges us. It can come in the family, in the work place, and even in our faith.
Resistance and difficulties could be physical but also spiritual.
By default, men would sometimes respond with force, self reliance, pride, and with fear.
Acting with courage on the other hand, is acting with no fear, acting with a belief of what you are doing.
Courage is the ability to step back and pray with and the ability to face danger or pain, without being overcome by it nor overcome by fear.
Courage is when God is with you, you are not relying on your own strength but rather relying upon God.
Examples of courageous people in the bible : David, Joshua, Daniel, Esther

    Joshua 1:1-9
Be strong – to strengthen yourself
We are strong and courageous when we do not compromise the word of God.
Fear on the other hand can come when we do compromise on God’s word.
    Courage requires faith.
Make room to meditate on God and on his word, so that we would have the law in our hearts when it is needed at time of difficulty.
Obeying God’s Word gives us the courage.
Wisdom and prayer gives us strength not to be afraid.
Prayer will lead us to walk in the spirit and not in the flesh.
When we pray, we can have the peace of God. That can give us strength and courage to face the unknown outcome.

How do we develop courage ?
Wait upon God, patience, actively waiting. Patience with Timing.
Dig yourself deeper. Entrench yourself in God.
    Anticipate his promises.
Restrain doing it on your own strength.
Waiting – let God answer in His time, and for His purpose. Then be courageous to do it.
God allows for the character to develop when you wait with patience.
We need to overcome our weaknesses and fear, so that we can wait and be courageous.
In the Bible, Joseph is a good example of someone who waited upon God. He remained faithful until God’s will was finally made evident.

Then, we do end up overcoming difficulties and resistance, always remember to give God thanks.
Even if the difficulty was resolved by human means, remember that God was leading and to give Him the glory and thanks for the deliverance.

    May His name be praised.
