Principles of Sobriety

A Christian should abstain from the consumption of all fermented, alcoholic beverages (Pro. 23:31-35), with the exception of medicinal prescriptions (1 Tim. 5:23). Drinking beverages that have intoxicating qualities is very unwise and out of character with the warnings and will of God that believers be sober minded (Pro. 31:4-5; Rom. 13:11-14; Gal. 5:16-21; Eph. 5:17-18; 1 Ths. 5:8; 1 Pt. 1:13; 4:7; 5:8).
