Principles for Media Choices

A Christian should conscientiously guard himself against inappropriate and questionable media. He should avoid knowingly making choices to view wicked images and behavior (Ps. 101:3; Pro. 7:24-27), conscientiously resist finding pleasure in violence (Ps. 11:5), judiciously prevent unnecessary knowledge of evil (Rom. 16:19), and diligently keep away from any association with questionable material (1 Cor. 15:33; 1 Ths. 5:22). Recognizing that a variety of media has useful purposes, the believer must be purposeful and principled in his use of appropriate media, guarding against wasted time, unnecessary temptations, and inconsiderate offences (Ps. 90:12; Pro. 4:23-27; Eph. 5:15-17; 1 Cor. 10:12-13; 1 Pt. 5:8).
